T.I.R.E.D that spells tired.

Why after a fairly low key weekend did I not show up to work bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning? Weeeelllll it may have a little something to do with staying up to watch the Game of Thrones finale. I mean after last weeks episode I HAD to. It has a lot more to do with two toddlers and a mini dachshund though.

For at least the last week both kids have sneaked into bed with us. I don’t notice it at the time. No. I notice when I wake up on the wood plank of our platform bed with my neck at a 90 degree angle, body stiff like I’ve been there a while, and a dachshund curled up behind my knees.

Also, my daughter isn’t the most peaceful sleeper there ever was. She tends to wail and flail. I’ve got random bruises on my body and bumps on my head that I suspect may be from little miss. So yeah, I could use a nap and a chiropractor.

Some highlights of the weekend though were taking the kids and our friends to my dad and stepmom’s to feed the farm animals. Dixie Dog went to the groomer and kept the bows in hair for the first time ever. The squash from the garden is exploding. The kids *mostly* got along.

Also, something kind of exciting, I’ve been invited to be a contributing writer on https://mytrendingstories.com/. Have you ever heard of it? Take a second and check it out. There’s articles from everything from business to sports to entertainment. Last week was my first week to post some stuff to there. Right now it’s mainly some of my older blog posts under the Life and Styles section and taste and parents subsections. Let me know what you think of it.

How was your weekend?

  1. Yay this is great! Congratulations on the contributing blog. ❤ What an adorable story about your kids and dog – really made me smile.
I also wanted to let you know that I'm going to be taking a break from blogging, probably for a week to a week and a half. I'm at a spiritual conference so will be booked up most of the day. Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't hear from me! I plan to do a blog post tomorrow to let folks know. ❤
    Abundant blessings your way.

  2. Congratulations on becoming a contributing writer! Who knows where that might lead? As for my weekend, I will only say — without meaning to sound smug, you understand — mine was apparently more restful than yours!

  3. How exciting to be able to add your writing to the new site!! –and I know what yo mean about the tired part. We had 4 kids in 6 years and plenty of toddlers for a while! Now they’re grown and we had smallish grand-kids and last week I took the 3 grand-grils on a road trip. Got home Sunday at midnight and slept almost 12 hours! crazy! But you can’t do that with your kiddos at home!!–hoping for pockets of peace and rest in your busy life Lacey. hugs!

Congratulations on becoming a contributor! That IS exciting and well-deserved 🙂

We need to get caught up with GoT. Still can’t read articles about it yet and I want to start talking about it!
