Week in Review

Week in Review 5/5/17

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Teacher Appreciation Week. All of the mom groups are blowing up on social media about the upcoming PTA sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week. It is officially scheduled for May 8-12, but I have read of several schools participated this week instead. It is a time to give extra thanks and appreciation to the overworked and underpaid professionals (or at least they are in Oklahoma) that educate and inspire our kids everyday. Do you do anything for the teachers in your life during Teacher Appreciation Week? If so, what?

2) What blog should you check out?

In the Land of No Secrets. One of my oldest friendships is with an incredibly big heart-ed, funny woman named Dusti. She is the kind of friend who will show up when she knows you really need her without you even asking. She is the kind of friend who always gives the most thoughtful and unique gifts, perfectly tailored to the receiver. She is the kind of friend that is just good to have.

Dusti is a new mom to a beautiful human baby boy and also mom to an entertaining, eclectic pack of animals. Hop on over and check out her new blog where she promises it’ll be fun sometimes, serious sometimes, and inappropriate sometimes 🙂

3) What’s been going on this week?

Getting over from being sick. Ugh does it feel like I say that all the time?!?! Apparently my iron was very low causing me to have a hard time getting over a virus. So my plans for last weekend fell through, and I have spent most of the week resting to try and recover.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

Netflix. At least I think it will be Netflix. I am going to wait to see how I feel and play it by ear. Currently I’ve been watching Party of Five. It’s been a blast from my past. One of my best friends in high school and I used to watch it and refer to it as affectionately as POF. And oh the fashion! The guys are all in flannel and ill fitting pants while the girls are all in the same short skirt with either a cropped top or fuzzy sweater.

5) Did you miss this post?

Young Adult Book Reviews. Check it out for some summer reading recommendations for your kids or books to read as a family.

Thanks for reading.

How was your week? Tell me, what are you up to this weekend?

      1. Yeah it is so tough. I am feeling so good now that I kind of can’t believe how bad I was feeling before and just trying to deal with it.
