I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
The Handmaid’s Tale the book and The Handmaid’s Tale the series. I saw the Kindle download for this book on Amazon was free. I also thought I had read on a friends blog that she had recommended it, but I was mistaken. Oops. Oh well. I had it download. It didn’t cost me anything. So I read on.
The story takes place in a near future society that is intolerantly religious and restricts the rights and choices of women for their own protection. When I was finished with the book I went on to start the series on Hulu that recently premiered. The story lines in the series vary somewhat from the book, but the premise is still the same. The series is done in a way that makes the story feel current. This makes it seem real, like it COULD MAYBE even happen here and now.
If you are looking for a something to give you warm and fuzzy feelings, this is not it. But if you are looking for something interesting and different, I would totally recommend it.
2) What blog should you check out?
Bee Organized with Pamela. Pamela is a fellow Okie who transplanted to Arizona several years ago. She blogs about organizing and containing clutter. Her posts range from keeping your junk drawers manageable to tackling spring cleaning and everything else in between. She is full of helpful tips. Go on. Check it out.
3) What’s been going on this week?
Work and kids. Work was busy this week. Then the kids kept me busy at home. We’ve made a few trips to the library to check out books and play. Also, they’ve have been asking to make a bunk bed for their Paw Patrol toys. They decided it should be pink. My kids think we can make anything from paper and tape.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
Bloom. I am helping out at this event for new and expecting moms in the Oklahoma City area. I just so happen to have a 50% off code. Let me know if you would like to use it! There will be TONS of giveaways, vendors, food, and panel discussions.
I am also going to get to see a good friend who will visiting from out of town this weekend and chill out with the family.
5) Did you miss this post?
I Took Superman Indoor Skydiving: A Tale of a Sensory Superhero
Or this one Reflecting about Mother’s Day
Thanks for reading.

Oh you Debbie thank you. Sometimes I have more time than others to focus on on the blog, but I’ve always got a running list of ideas! And I know you have been doing the same, stepping up. Your new graphic really is impressive! What photo editing software do you use? (off topic I know…. but I’m curious!)
Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend. What will you be up to?

I will definitely be checking out The Handmaid’s Tale, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I still remember the movie they made in the 1990’s.
Seems they’ve updated it with creepily current subtext.

Of course! They always are a blast to read. I wish this orientation period wasn’t so hectic so I could take more time to stay in touch. But I do when I can, and I always love reading them! XO

I’ve been thinking for an activity that my daughter and I could do…We’ve been going to the mall, cinema, park & zoo…I just might try to bring her to a Library next. 😊

All of the ones around here have different play areas in the children’s section with stuff like train tables, puzzles, blocks, etc… Mine love it!

That’s nice…they also get to play other than to read! ☺

Yes! It is so helpful in the winter and summer when it’s too hot or too cold to get them out to play.

Rhonda! How was the BBQ and rest of your weekend? We got stuff done around the house and some yard work. We made it to one cookout. Pretty low key, but you know I love that time with the kiddos!

Hey Lacey– sound like a good mix of fun and being productive. Friday to Sunday we took our grand-girl to San Diego for her 10th birthday– the zoo, museum, park… I think she loved the late night swim at the hotel the most. It was a sweet time with her on her own. Hope your week is moving along well. You balance so much! hugs hugs.
