Week in Review

Week in Review 6/9/17

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Mom Bods. I participated in a swimsuit piece for the Oklahoma City Moms blog along with other fellow contributors. I hope we encouraged women to embrace their mom bodies, put on a suit, and go have fun with their families this summer.

2) What blog should you check out?

The Happy Life 101. If you want a guaranteed positive post on your feed follow Nina at The Happy Life 101. She has a knack for turning things on their side and genuinely finding a better way to see situations. How so? Well, for example, she looks at Mondays as a fresh start. I’ve never done that before! Her blog is inspiring. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Weird things in the garden. It appears some winter squash are growing where I planted broccoli and cauliflower. Maybe the seeds I bought were mislabeled, but what are the odds of that happening? Or maybe the compost I used had these seeds in it?

Anyway, I think the first one is an acorn squash. My cousin suggestions the second one maybe a spaghetti squash. What do you think?

4) What’s going on this weekend?

Play date at The Station. There is an organized playgroup meeting at the this train themed park on Saturday morning. It works out perfect since I have a train obsessed son. I also think there is a farmer’s market that goes on there on Saturday mornings that I’d like to check out.

5) Did you miss this post?

Why We Keep Birthdays Simple. My kids’ birthdays are close together and right around the corner. So birthdays have been a hot topic at our house lately.

  1. I agree about the acorn squash, but jury still out on second. Maybe a zucchini?
There are a number of seeds that come in with compost.
I never have to plant certain veggies in my garden, as they come up voluntarily: pumpkins, tomatoes and dill are a few.

I don't know what those things are in your garden, but I bet they will be yummy.

      1. You’re so welcome! I’m so tired of moms shaming other mom’s. It’s not good for us or for the daughters…or sons…we are trying to raise to love themselves flaws and all. I’m proud of my stretch marks and mom belly that’s not like it uses to be because it grew and nurtured 3 amazing babies! That’s worth showing off 😊

I’m so glad you’re excited about your nomination!! Love your blog 😄 I can’t wait to see your answers!

    1. Oh goodness yes, the garden just keeps getting weirder and weirder. We have even more mystery stuff growing now! We had a busy weekend with lots of running around and playing in the water and celebrating Father’s Day. Was yours good??
