Week in Review 7/28/17

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.

 

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Art via text. My sister sent this to me, and it kind of made my day.  The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art can only display a small fraction of their collection at a time. So they came up with a texting system for more of their pieces to be able to be viewed.

How does it work? Text “send me” and enter a feeling, a color, an emoji, or an item to 572-51. You’ll get a response with a piece of art related to what you sent. I’m not going to lie. I could probably do it all day long.

I texted “send me something cold” when our A/C at work went out.

2) What blog should you check out?

 The Hungry Boys. It’s a blog written by a foodie wife and mom to 2 active teenage boys. She posts recipes that are healthy and family approved. We have been trying to cut back on the animal products we consume in our house. So I appreciate that her recipes are colorful and full of veggies. While she sometimes incorporates meats and cheeses in her recipes (which I am totally on board with), there’s plenty where that’s not the main feature. She does it in a way that makes you feel like you aren’t missing out on anything. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Working from home. The A/C at work went out, and it’s been as high as 101 degrees in the great state of Oklahoma this week. So everyone got approved to work from home until further notice.

It sounds like that would be nice, right? But with a 2 and 5 year old, it’s proven to be a bit tricky. Like when my son sneaked into my bedroom where I had set up shop and heartily yelled, “MINIONS!!!” into the phone receiver while I was on a call with a client.

Work Shmork. They don’t get it.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

Another birthday party. My best friend has a son who is my son’s best friend, and their birthdays are a week apart. My son’s party was last weekend. So her son’s party is this weekend. Between the two of these kids there has been so much birthday excitement and anticipation!

His Aunt and Uncle gave him 5 present for turning 5.
