I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
Pulled Pastrami Sandwiches . Cast Iron Dan won my Caption Contest, and his delicious recipe was re-blogged earlier this week. I could use one of these babies right about now!
And the eclipse of course. Luckily some people at work brought and shared their glasses because I was 100% not prepared, even though we had made viewers for the kids. I saw some people traveled and some had watch parties. Did you do anything?
2) What blog should you check out?
Mama Myrick’s Musings. I am excited to feature this blog because the woman behind it, Jenna, is a fellow Oklahoma City Moms Blog contributor. She became a mama earlier this year and is a self described semi-crunchy minimalist. She is smart, honest, and funny. So is her blog. Check it out.
3) What’s been going on this week?
Back to school. Is anyone else tired of this phrase? This is was our first full week back, and it has been an emotional roller coaster. Who knew getting the bus schedule, pick up lines, and a gazillion other tiny school related things could be so stressful. Whew. Next week should be smoother. Right? RIGHT?
4) What’s going on this weekend?
My daughter’s birthday party. Weather permitting we are taking her to see the pink flamingos and having a party at the splash pad. Guys, she’s 3, and she’s amazing. I’ve described her before as 110% of whatever she does or feels. While I was a bit sad when my son turned 5 recently, I don’t feel that way with my daughter. Only because she is so mature, smart, and sassy that is seems like she could be older.
5) Did you miss this post?
Thanks for reading. How was your week? Tell me, what are you up to this weekend?
– Lacey

Yes yes yes– school will ease out! It’s crazy getting started. How did he do?? Did he like his teacher?? Does he already know any of the kids in the class? And– pink flamingos??!! What could be happier for a 3 year old birthday girl! Hope for a sweet day for her (and you Lacey!!) xox

No he doesn’t know anyone. He did okay, but the first week was so inconsistent that it was really hard on him. He wasn’t signed up for bus services, then he was. The the bus was late. Then one day it didn’t come! Oy I hope this week is better.
The party was a success! I’ll to post pictures today.
How was your weekend?

Hey Lacey– sorry about the bus! It’s hard when every day is an adjustment. There’s enough new to do when you’re starting school! We had a pleasant weekend– a friends wedding at the prettiest Spanish style place. I felt like we were in Europe! And last night we had a retirement dinner here for my oldest friend from college. A sweet time together. Looking forward to seeing the birthday party pics!! Hope she had a ball!!

Great post Lacey. I so enjoy your week in reviews. ADORABLE photo of your son on his first day (?) at school. That backpack is almost as big as he is. 🙂
Did you take your daughter to see the pink flamingos? How did it go? Please wish her a happy birthday from me.
I’m going to look at homes this weekend. Keep me in your prayers, Lacey. I know that it is all being divinely guided. Doing my best to take one step at a time and stay as clear in my heartfelt dreams as I can! Also going to a spiritual gathering on Sunday (yay).
Blessings, and more blessings to you and your family, Lacey. And lots of laughter too! Debbie

Thanks Debbie, the pick of my son was on Back to School night, and we did indeed see the flamingos this weekend. I’ll try to post pictures today or soon!
It can be hard to trust the process when you want thing to move along or go differently. I know. I hope Sunday was nice???
