Week in Review

Week in Review 9/29/17

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Reaves Park. There was one day this week the kids desperately needed to get out of the house, and I desperately needed them to run off all their crazy, especially since it was foretasted to rain all week. We landed at Reaves Park. I know I have to be the last person in this area to discover and fall in love with place. It’s a wooden wonderland with all sorts of nooks and crannies and secrets to explore.

2) What blog should you check out?

Caroline Clemens. Caroline Clemons is the pen name Kim Troike uses. It seems like she can do anything, even before adding self published author and poet to the list. After being a nurse and becoming a mother she did what so many of us want to do. She wrote her book. She actually wrote AND published it. How inspiring is that?! On top of being a mom, nurse, author, and photographer, she is also a blogger. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Crappy stuff. I like to look on the bright side, but I also like to keep it real. You guys if I’m going to be honest, I gotta tell you that I struggled this week. There was sickness in the house. There was a speeding ticket I want to rant about but won’t. There were long work days. As much as I try to not live for the weekend, I have this week. I’m glad it’s Friday.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

A trip to P Bar Farms. P Bar Farms is about an hour west of Oklahoma City. It has all the quintessential fall to-do things: pumpkin patch, corn maze, hay rides, petting zoo, and more. I can’t wait!

5) Did you miss this post?

And remember, watch out for witches. Check out this post for more confirmation on why my daughter is creative and hilarious. Yeah, I know I’m her mom, but it’s true. I promise.

Also, check out this post for a cauliflower “wing” recipe. It’s good. Again, I promise.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? Tell me, what are you up to this weekend?

  1. Hi Lacey! Wanted to pop in and let you know I’m having a meet and greet right now. You are a staple to the party so I hope you have a second to join in. Hugs!

  2. Bummer about the crummy week. That just blows. Love the look of that fall farm fun for the weekend though. In Australia we don’t really do big “fall” celebrations. They look so awesome from afar. I have travelled in North America in various seasons and fall is always my fav time.

It’s a long weekend for us here in AUS. We are visiting the posh beach area with friends which is kinda fun. We are staying right on a bay with sand out front. Glorious.

  3. Oh gosh Lacey– sick family AND a ticket??!! That is a bad week! Do you have to go to traffic school in OK?? I’ve done that a couple times– such a long day!! Hope you are all on the mend by now. And how was P Bar Farms?? Sounds like a fun outing!! And a chance to fun fall pictures of kids!! We had Jodi and the grand-girls here , plus a family visiting her from China!! They made a Chinese feast Saturday night– Happy week ahead… xox

    1. Yes it was a bad week 😦 The cop actually said I could go to traffic school so it won’t go on my record but the thought of paying to take it and giving up a Saturday is terrible.
We did have THE BEST time at PBar Farms. I will try to post some pics.
I bet the Chinese feast was unreal. And Jodi and the grandkids were good too?

      1. Hey Lacey! Had a great time with Jodi (she is the kindest daughter-in-law) and the girls were their crazy selves. They made a huge mess on the coffee table crafting–(which I think is so much fun). And they cleaned up, but after they left, I found they had pushed all the scraps of tinsel and foam and cardstock under the sofa (instead of into the trash!!) ha ha! That’s my girls! — And– looking forward to PBar Farms pics. Love all those pumpkiny fall days out! hugs hugs!
