I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
Halloween. I mean how could it not? My kiddos are going as Paw Patrol characters, Marshall and Skye. Because the exact right items at a thrift store practically threw themselves at me, I’m going as Velma from Scooby Doo.
What are you and/or your kiddos going as? If you don’t know yet, click here from some last minute costume ideas.
2) What blog should you check out?
Radhika’s Diaries. Radhika is a lover of words, and that shines through when reading her blog. Her topics are varied, thoughtful, and also lighthearted. I find myself chuckling through each and every single one of her posts. Check it out. Your day will be better.

3) What’s been going on this week?
Still soaking up the nice weather. I just know our nice weather days are numbered. Soon it’s going to turn cold and windy. So we are still trying to squeeze in as many walks and trips to the park that we can.
This past weekend my friend and I loaded up our kids and headed out to Turner Falls for a day trip. It’s known for it’s swimming in the summer. Fall rates are lower though, and there’s still plenty to explore. My kids complained the whole time because there wasn’t treasure in the caves or pizza at our picnic. It’s gorgeous there though, and one day maybe they’ll appreciate that we do stuff like this?
4) What’s going on this weekend?
A grown up dinner. Wha??? Yep, that’s right. A for real, sit down grown up dinner. My parents bought a table at a charity dinner and auction for us, them, and my collection of siblings. I’m going to sit down with my husband and have conversation with other grown ups without any kids around. I’m scared I won’t know how to behave, but also I’m really looking forward to it.
5) Did you miss this post?

Thanks for reading. How was your week? Tell me, what are you up to this weekend?

Turner Falls is such a great area. I laughed out loud at the “treasure in the cave” part! I love how you say our days are numbered until the weather turns cold and windy…and now it’s cold and windy 😭😭

They are so silly! I”d like to go to Tuner Falls in the summer too, but I’ve heard it’s really busy. Do you happen to know if that’s true?
Oh I know. Did I bring it on??? Yesterday was pretty at least.

It’s super busy in the summer. Late summer would be best to try and avoid the crowds. We usually just go across the highway to Sulphur, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area instead (free and not as packed).
And I think you did bring it on!

Yay for Halloween! It’s really big at our house. We’ve come a long way since Brontë got spooked and ran screaming across our neighbor’s yard when he opened the door because of all the spookiness.
My kids will be a skeleton and a fancy witch. They’ve been telling everyone about it for weeks, lol. Paw patrol is a super cute idea!

That’s so funny. Did it go okay last night?
I LOVE the little kid reactions to Halloween. We always have one that tries to open the door and come on it.
They’ve been asking to be Paw Patrol pups for months! Glad it finally happened.

It did! The kids both loved it this year… partly because they went with neighborhood kids and partly because they already know some neighbors. Yay! I hope you guys had a great Halloween too 🙂

We go with my sister’s kids, and I think it makes it way more fun for everyone. I’m glad to hear yours went well!

Yikes–I’m behind on my blog reading Lacey. Turner Falls looks gorgeous — great place for kids to run. Would love the bundle up for a fall walk there. And I’m dying to hear how your adult charity dinner went! Sounds like a lovely time –good food, family and quiet conversation. I wonder if you still are enjoying warm days– we had rain (yeah!) and chilly weather here today. hugs hugs Lacey

Oh my goodness I’m so far behind on blog reading. Work has been kicking my tail for 3-4 weeks in a row with no sign of slowing down.
We had a good time at the dinner. We didn’t win anything, but it was still fun.
It turned cold. The high today is 46! How the weather in your neck of the woods?
