Week in Review

Week in Review 12/8/17

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Instant Pot. We got a great deal on an Instant Pot on Cyber Monday. My husband and I had both been wanting one, but I admit I was bit intimidated. After the first meal though, I was sad we had gotten one a long time ago. We cooked a roast in about 45 minutes. We were able to sear the outside and then cook it in the same pan. It was the most tender meat we have ever made.

So on we went to make pulled pork, mac and cheese, and soup. Needless to say, we have totally bought into to this thing. It’s going to be a staple in our kitchen.

2) What blog should you check out?

The Polymath Ideal. Sanjay is a Renaissance man with a background in finance and economics. His posts may vary from stock market talk to book reviews to current events. No matter what the topic is though, the post is interesting, entertaining, and thought provoking. Most of all though his blog is intelligent without being pretentious. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

An anniversary. The hubs and I have been married for 7 years. Some days it feels like 7 seconds and some days it feels a lot longer. I think it directly correlates to how much sleep I’ve gotten! We didn’t do much to celebrate this week though because we are waiting until Star Wars comes out. Woot woot!!!

4) What’s going on this weekend?

Lady Gaga. My sister and one of our lifelong friends have tickets to the Lady Gaga concert. I’m not a huge fan. I’m going with the very best company though and know she puts on a great show.

What do I wear though? Seriously. Help me!

5) Did you miss this post?

You know you’re getting old when. . . This was published around this time last year, but is still true now.

  1. I love you Lacey!! Congrats on your anniversary. Yay. Many blessings of joy and abundance for you and your whole family. I’ll be in a class this weekend to help me lift up in consciousness of love and healing. Getting ready for a retreat next week too, where I’ll be entirely off line!!
Blessings, have a great weekend Debbie

      1. Thanks for asking 🙂 I little bit. I went to a thrift store and got a biker jacket. I wore that with some skinny jeans and tall boots. My young hip niece did my hair and make up. Nothing crazy but a little edgier than usual.
        How was your weekend??

      2. That sounds fun and a lovely date night! Mellow weekend here…have been “challenged” to cook vegan for my hub. I’m learning a lot!! Mostly about the huge range of meatless meat-type products out there.

      3. My husband tried a vegan diet for a few months recently. I didn’t mind because I like the challenge. We ended up using lots of lentils. Good luck! I can’t wait to see what comes out of your kitchen 🙂

      4. Yes so far with the adults it’s definitely doable, harder with the boys. I already use lots of unusual plant-based protein (lentils being one), but am trying different techniques with vegetables and subbing in (roasted butternut squash and black bean tacos). Eggs are the hardest…haven’t figured that out yet

      1. Hahahaha blowing a hole in the ceiling. Yes I’m scared of that too. I think it’ll take a while for me to get the hang of it and comfortable using it.
