I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
My little sister. She’s amazing. Seriously. She’s the best person I know. We’ve always been close, even geographically. We’ve never really lived apart. She and her husband have a big adventure they are starting together this week. They are moving out of state. I really am sincerely excited for them, but I’m also selfishly sad my sister won’t be right down the road for the first time in my life.
2) What blog post should you check out?
Pineapple Porcupine and Me! Check out this thoughtful post on the blog DeepAsThoughts with a beautiful analogy about how our defenses may be keeping us from something great.
**I had a Meet and Greet recently where I asked bloggers to share their favorite posts from 2017. I’m going to a highlight a post a week from the links left. If you would like to leave a link and have a piece highlighted on a Week in Review post, click here and leave it in the comments.**
3) What’s been going on this week?
Blah. I’ve been under the weather. Powering through work and then having an empty tank by the time I get home has made for one tough week.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
Rest? Hopefully?
5) Did you miss this post?
5 things that happen when moms get sick. This post is from about this time last year but feels on point for this week.
6) What did my kids create?
An Angry Birds level. We got some cardboard strips in a package shipped to our house this week. The kids folded them into squares and painted one with a window, one with TNT, one with an X, and one a car. They stacked them and made their own Angry Birds level.
Thanks for reading. How was your week? Tell me, what are you up to this weekend?
– Lacey
Thank you Lacey for featuring Pineapple Porcupine & Me. It is a post very dear to me because as a parent that is a constant nagging thought in the back of our mind.
I can understand the feeling of sister moving out. That mixed feeling of being happy for the person and sad for oneself because it is difficult to say goodbye. Wishing her all the best.

It really is a great piece, and I totally get it from the parent perspective.
Yes I don’t want to say goodbye. I haven’t felt well this week so I haven’t been by to see her. I’m not looking forward to saying goodbye.

Your kids are so creative – that is awesome! Hope you can get some rest and feel better soon. I also enjoy your weekly reviews because I can read five posts in one sitting without having to click around too much – now that is lazy!! Have a good weekend 🙂

Aww, Lacey, are you feeling better? Much love to you!! Hope you’re getting rest this weekend.
Love the photo of you and your sister. Many blessings to her on her move. ❤
Sending you and your family love and hugs. I was just in a spiritual class this weekend. VERY relaxing, which I sorely needed. (My partner and I may have split up)
Blessings,
Debbie

Ugh– hope the doctor fixed you up with something good to get you on your feet! Yep, I’m in SF (flew this time– cheaper than driving when it’s just one person) and just back from a walk to the market with Lois and her mom. Now it’s nap time… Hope your day is going well there Lacey… xox

Did you get some rest? My weekend was good I suppose, nothing special. But hey, we all got to do our part, don’t we : )

I tend to like the nothing special weekends though.
I did get some rest, thank you. Slept like 16 hours a day!
