I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
Lost in Space on Netflix. It can be hard to find a show to watch as a family, one where the parents and kids both actually enjoy it. Lost in Space is a full on fun adventure show with no cussing or crazy violence. My husband and I both got into it, but also our 5 year old son has too.
2) What blog post should you check out?
Snips, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails is about the good and bad of dogs versus kids on the humor blog Comically Quirky. As a dog lover who also happens to have kids I found this post to be hysterical. Check it out.
**I had a Meet and Greet recently where I asked bloggers to share their favorite posts from 2017. I’m going to a highlight a post a week from the links left. If you would like to leave a link and have a piece highlighted on a Week in Review post, click here to leave it in the comments.**
3) What’s been going on this week?
Bloom. It’s an event put on by the Oklahoma City Moms Blog for new or expecting moms. There were vendors and food and giveaways galore! I got this swag bag bursting with goodies. I also won a gift card to Rhea Lana’s: A children’s consignment event and swim lessons at Goldfish Swim School.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
Bribing and Wal-Mart. My husband and I were exhausted non-stop because our kids kept sneaking into our bed during the night. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve woken up on the wooden plank of our platform bed with my neck hanging off. We’ve needed a live in chiropractor.
So last week we bribed them. We asked them were they would like to go or what they would like to do. Their answer was they wanted to go to McDonald’s for Happy Meals. So the hubs and I told the kiddos if they slept in their beds all week, we would take them to McDonald’s.
Guess what? They slept in their beds all week! After the Happy Meals though they started sneaking back into our bed again. . . . So once again my husband and I ask, where do you want to go? What do you want to do?
Their answer? Wal-Mart! We don’t shop at Wal-Mart. I don’t think my kids have ever been to Wal-Mart. I don’t know how they even know about Wal-Mart. My husband and I keep trying to tell them it’s just a big store, but the kids insist that’s where they want to go.
They’ve slept in their beds all week. So I guess we will be going to Wal-Mart. If we do this for a few weeks then sleeping in their beds through the night will become habit, right? RIGHT?
5) Did you miss this post?
My Forgiveness Friend and Coaching Session. It’s about a unique and helpful experience I was blessed by another blogger to have recently.
6) What did my kids create?
You tell me. Here’s some random stuff I’ve found around the house.
A dog blanket from an old rag?
A toothbrush microphone for Elsa?
I later found firewood under this bucket, so maybe a pretend campfire?
Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

If you do, let me know what you think. For a family show we all thought it was pretty good.

I was excited that my son was excited about a show that wasn’t a cartoon!

Ahhh the challenge of finding shows that everyone will like. That is the age we introduced shows like food network shows (think more guys grocery games and cake wars), HGTV shows (like property brothers). I know Richard introduced them to some car shows too, but I can’t think of them for the life of me.

Oh yeah I forgot about Cake Wars. My kids do like that too . . . but then they inspired to make the cakes. . . .

We’ve been watching Lost in Space too!
We have the kids this weekend, so our plans include a museum, a trampoline park, and possibly Sugar Mountain if I’m feeling brave\stupid enough.

Do you like it so far?
That sounds like a perfect kid plan. Good luck!

Walmart is definitely not my idea of a good time, but it’s hilarious how kids seem to think otherwise! My own kids enjoy going there far more than I do. Hmm… Maybe I’m missing something. 😛

Hahaha thank you. It wasn’t too bad actually. We went when it was raining so it wasn’t busy.

Thanks! Sometimes I try to tell myself it’s incentives but really it’s bribing.

Oh I had to smile Lacey….your little ones are very clever, and your bribery tactics are working 🙂 At least you get to have a comfortable sleep in the bed and not half off the bed dangling on the floor…..
Hope your weekend was good, and hope you have a restful week. 🙂

Hey Lacey! Lost in Space sounds great– I’ll bet our grand-girls would like watching that with us. thanks for the recommendation! And I’m with you on the bribes!! I used to bribe our kids to read all summer, or to finish their peas… What did they think of Walmart?? I’m catching up with all your posts– so behind!! fun to read what you’ve been up to… xox

I mean the bribing works. I may feel better about if I call it incentives though.
They LOVED WalMart. Go figure!
Thanks for taking the time to catch up on my posts. Work had me so swamped last week I was behind too.
