Week in Review

Week in Review 6/8/18

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Hello Fresh. A blogger friend of mine had a code to redeem some free meals from Hello Fresh, a meal delivery service. I have to admit I was skeptical that free food would actually just show up at my doorstep. But it did! So if you get offered one of those codes take it!

Have you used a meal delivery service? Which one and what do you think of it?

2) What blog should you check out?

My blogger friend from above I told you about is Kristen. We write for Oklahoma City Moms Blog together, and she has a personal blog you should check out, Driving Mom Crazy. She is a Child Passenger Safety Technician. So she blogs about car seat safety to momming and everything in between.

**I had a Meet and Greet recently where I asked bloggers to share their favorite posts from 2017. I’m going to a highlight a post a week from the links left. If you would like to leave a link and have a piece highlighted on a Week in Review post, click here to leave it in the comments.**

3) What’s been going on this week?

Adjusting to summer. My son does best with routine. He was certainly excited and ready for summer vacation. Now that it’s here though he misses school and is having a hard time adjusting. I feel like by the time he gets used to being out for summer it’ll be time to start school again. We’ve enrolled in the summer reading program at the library, and I’m going to try to do some other things regularly with the kids. Maybe that will help.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

Dare I say nothing?!?! We’ve been out of town or had some big engagement for weeks (if feels like months) in a row. We may actually have the chance at a low key, restful weekend.

5) Did you miss this post?

It’s summertime, which means it’s time to re-share my fritter post. I think this is just the perfect way to use up all the veggies from your garden or the farmer’s market.  Click here to read Here a fritter. There a fritter. Everywhere a fritter, fritter.

6) What did my kids create?

Everything! There’s been paintings and video game backdrops and a pretend school and who knows what else. They’ve been busy. . . and so have I. I forgot to get a picture of anything the made this week. . .but I will next week!

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Oh Lacey, have a great relaxing weekend. So glad you’ll get a chance to unwind …. you are such a sweetheart.

Your kids are really creative, love how much they do with that! Looking forward to seeing photos next week. 🙂

Many blessings to you, Lacey. Oh – and I’m doing a “Happy-ness Experiment” this week if you want to join me. Feel free to visit my #ForgivingFridays blog today to check it out. So fun.

  2. I have found over the years with my boys that I need to keep some semblance of routine during the summer. we have specific things that we try to do each day, they are little things that don’t take a lot of time, but keep them in the feeling of routines. Hope you find something that works for you and your son

  3. Hooray for weekends doing nothing Lacey!! Sounds pretty perfect about now. Fun to see Kristen’s blog– and I had Hello Fresh at a friends house for lunch one day. We cooked it up together and it was great to do together and really yummy! Hope Lincoln settles into summer well– the reading program sounds great. I used to bribe my kids to read in the summer. And hoping things slow down for you a bit in summer… hugs hugs Lacey!

    1. Yes, the Hello Fresh was really good and high quality. I don’t think it’s helpful for where our family is at right now, but I see it being a nice things for couples or singles maybe.
Oh good that makes me feel better that you bribed too. Sometimes I call it incentives, but really I’m bribing my kids!
