I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
A story a coworker sent me about a man buying beer and chasing people around the store with an alligator. Click here to read about it and to see a video. It gave everyone in the office a laugh.
2) What post should you check out?
Brussels sprouts are my hands down, all time favorite veggie. I think they get a bad rap from being prepared all wrong. I could eat an entire pan of perfectly roasted brussels spouts in one sitting. I’ve pinned this dish Roasted Brussels Sprouts Caesar Salad from the blog Leen Cuisine. I cannot wait to try it.
3) What’s been going on this week?
Lots and lots. I had my 33 week appointment Monday. Right as I was telling the doctor I thought the baby had been moving a lot less, baby girl kicked so hard that she knocked the heartbeat doppler off my belly! The doctor and I laughed. Do we have a girl with a sense of humor? A sassy pants? Both?
I’ve been grateful for my sit down/stand up desk at work this week. I’ve been walking around with a foot in my ribs. So it’s been nice to stand and keep working when I need to.
The kids finished their summer reading program for the library. They got to turn in their charts in for books and prizes this week. I’m proud of them, and we promptly celebrated with ice cream. It was some what self serving because I was craving ice cream, but it worked out for everyone.
We had my son’s birthday party. It was fantastic, and I hope to post about it next week. Here’s a sneak peak though of some Pac Man cookies we had thanks to Eileen’s Colossal Cookies.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
Partying. My kids are best friends with my best friend’s kids. Did you follow that? One of her kids is having a costume dance birthday party that we are all super pumped about.
5) Did you miss this post?
Check it out for an easy summer meal.
6) What did my kids create?
A bunny trap. We have two mini dachshunds and live in a neighborhood overrun with rabbits. Bless their hearts, our dogs aspire to be rabbit hunters, but have fallen short (pun intended) all but one time. When the kids saw the dogs miss yet another rabbit, they thought they’d help our dogs out. The kids created a bunny trap for the dogs by camouflaging a cardboard box with grass clippings and set a carrot on top.
And now we wait.
Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

I think we should form the Brussels Sprouts brigade and try to get people to eat them. Roasted B-Sprouts are too good NOT to eat!!

I don’t know!? It’s like they are almost too sweet and kinda hurt my teeth, but then I can’t stop eating an entire one. . . or two.

It sounds like that baby inside you might be a challenge when she’s older. But I love your kids rabbit trap. I don’t have a foot in my ribs but I like the stand up desk too 🙂

Thanks, they were pretty pumped about their trap lol.
I’m really grateful my work provides the stand up desks. I’ve never been anywhere else that does, and I love it.

sounds like your new little lady is making her personality known already! That rabbit trap is creative. what will they do if they actually catch a rabbit?

I’m cracking up at your questions, because they do have a plan. They’ve made the back porch into a pet restaurant. They are just waiting to have something to serve.

are they serving the rabbit as dinner? now that’s a sad thought

That’s their plan. If they ever actually caught one they wouldn’t be able to go through with it of course and would want it as a pet.

That’s the best darned bunny trap I ever saw. Cute! Also those cookies look cute. And as for sassy baby girl, definitely a cute move.

My plans for this week is to continue finishing my final draft of my book along with making some new friends. I’ve been blogging for 3 years or so and I see that a lot of the people I started with, aren’t really here anymore. I like connecting with others and opening my eyes to other prospectives. Happy to have stumbled across yours 😁 Take care!

Final draft?! Very exciting! I hope it went well?
Yeah I imagine 3 years in the blog world is a long time and there’s bound to be “turnover”.

Yeah. Now that I’m back in the world of writing, it’s important to me to make actual connections with people. Hard to do that when so many people flake after a while. So hey! Don’t be flaky 😋😅
