Week in Review

Week in Review 8/24/18

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Pitchfork in the Park. This actually got my attention last week when the kids and I left the Cox Center downtown after catching the Paw Patrol Live show. We just stepped across the street and found a walk up brick and mortar food stand. There was a small splash pad area and patio furniture surrounded by the beautiful lawn of the Myriad Gardens and skyscrapers. We had an impromptu lunch, cooled down in the water, and were dried off by the time we walked back to the car. I might be the last person in Oklahoma City to know about this spot, but it felt like we stumbled across a neat little secret.

2) What post should you check out?

My Husband Saved My Life. It’s a post about a mom who had health problems after a delivery. I sat stunned when I read it. I thought there is no way it could be true, even though I know it is. It just seems so unexpected and unlikely. . . and scary.

3) What’s been going on this week?

We survived our first full week of school. Work’s been busy. I’m still pregnant.

There was a book club meeting. (I need to do a book review post soon!) And the people at work threw me a surprise baby shower that was so sweet my 3rd trimester hormones could barely handle it!

Also, today is my daughter’s 4th birthday! With my son I always seem to think, “I can’t believe he’s already X years old.” With my daughter though, she has such a grown up, firecracker of a personality that I find I always have to remind myself she’s not older than she is. Happy birthday to this funny, smart, sassy pants little lady.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

My daughter’s birthday party. Leave it to her to come up with something unique, a pirate princess party. Arrrgggg! And also tiARRRas!

5) Did you miss this post?

Our Autism Journey: A Year After the Diagnosis

The timing of this one getting published on the Oklahoma City Moms Blog is pretty significant. My son started Kindergarten last week in a “regular” class. There have been some bumps, but overall he is doing very well. It’s been an emotional roller coaster for me though.

6) What did my kids create?

We had a paper airplane contest at work. Mine did not perform well, but it was sure decorated well. Here’s the best rubber stamp motif you’ll ever find.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Lacey, what a great post! From Pitchfork in the Park (which looks so refreshing) to your daughter’s birthday and a beautifully-decorated paper airplane. 🙂 🙂 Hope that the birthday party went really well. Could you wish her a happy birthday for me?

How sweet that your co-workers threw you a baby shower! When are you due? I’d like to put it in my calendar, so that I can send you Light and love.

I’m catching up with things this weekend after being out of town on spiritual work events. Also I went to a seminar today by a wonderful man John Morton. It was called “Blessings Here and Now”. And my partner David is coming home tomorrow.

Much love to you Lacey ❤

    1. Thanks Debbie, I sure will wish her a happy birthday. It was a great, fun weekend.

Yes you have been traveling a lot recently. I bet it’s nice to be back home?

I’m Due Sept 16th. My dr appointments are weekly now, and I should have a better idea each week if she may be here early or not. Eeek!

I hope you are settling back in and ready for the week?

  2. whenever my boys have a birthday I often go back and forth between the how can they be x years old and haven’t they been this age for like 7 months now feeling. neither are bad feelings to have the first shows how much you enjoy spending time watching her grow and learn and the second shows how much she has matured and the independence she has gained!
