Week in Review

Week in Review 10/19/18

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Instacart. I haven’t tried it, but this sign in the Aldi entrance made me stop in my tracks. Has anyone used Instacart for Aldi grocery delivery? Thoughts? Experiences? This could be a game changer.

2) What post should you check out?

Dear Dads, Suck it up and get the vasectomy. I’m 100% certain my body is finished having kids. I’m 100% certain I don’t want something foreign in my body. I’m 100% certain this post gave some pretty good points to think about.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Well since having the baby I’ve been on a blog break for about a month now. Feels kinda weird to be getting back into the swing of things. My maternity leave is coming to end, and I’ll be back at work in about a week. I have enjoyed my time at home and found it challenging. I am starting to struggle with the 2-3 hour sleep intervals, and the big kids have been sick off and on. But I’ve also gotten loads of sweet baby snuggles, gotten to go to day time school functions, and been blessed with meals and help galore from family and friends.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

Fall Break. I’m going to try to balance getting the kids out for some fall activities and getting rest (sleep I hope). First up was a sleep over at their aunt’s and a trip to the pumpkin patch (which was a blast). The rest of fall break will be played by ear depending on my energy level.

5) Did you miss this post?

We are all in love, baby Delta’s blog birth announcement.

I’m not ready, about maternity leave ending.

6) What did my kids create?

I’m not going to lie. The kids have had an increased amount of screen time. However, they’ve been watching their tablets, then having intense play and create times after. Really their screen time has inspired them. Really I have nothing to feel guilty about. I haven’t gotten a lot of pictures of what they’ve done, but here is pet photo series I found on my phone.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. I’ve no personal experience with home grocery delivery. If you don’t have porch pirates in your neighborhood, it could be great. But if theft is a problem, I dunno. If you use it, I’d love to know your experience.

    1. Since the hubs stays home we usually don’t have to worry about theft of our deliveries, but I would be MAD if that happend.
We actually used the grocery delivery this week. It was a bit more expensive of course. I think we won’t use it all the time. It’s nice to know about though for the weeks that are out of control.

  2. I’ve never tried the grocery delivery. at our local grocery store you can also do it where you drive to the store and they load the groceries into your car for you. Again not something I’ve done, but my first thought was hmmm a mom with a newborn or ill kiddos this would be perfect for.

no stressing over the increase of technology it is all a balancing act. I’m sure things will settle down into a rhythm you are content with in no time.

    1. I like the idea of grocery pick up too, not having to get the kids out and wrangle them. The only place that does that here is Wal-Mart though. I’ve been so opposed to shopping there for so long I can’t seem to bring myself to try it.

  3. Ha ha! love the dog photos appearing on your phone!! And go for the Aldi delivery!! Sound just like what a busy mom needs– since you already know their products and what you like. I think it will be hard at times, but you are so amazing– you can do it!! hugs hugs.

    1. We did actually try the grocery delivery this week. It was a bit more expensive after tip and the delivery fee. I think it’s good to know about for times when we are all sick or having an especially crazy week.
How are you?! I promise I am going to make it a point to hop over and catch up on all the posts I’ve missed!

      1. Hi Lacey– Didn’t think about the add on costs. I don’t know. I think your time and energy is worth a bit more cost. Hope you enjoy your last pre-work days!! Your kids are the best!! xox friend!
