Week in Review

Week in Review 10/26/2018

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Lemons and Confetti. So my good friend Dusti doesn’t live in the same city but since having the baby has made it a point to keep checking on me, has been to visit, helped with family picture day, brought food and gifts. She’s been amazingly supportive. After having a pretty rough week and not looking forward to going back to work next week a beautiful box of encouraging goodies showed up on my doorstep. Not only was it thoughtful, but she used this company, Lemons and Confetti. It’s a Tulsa based company ran by a woman with a mission to support women in good times and bad. There’s breakup gifts, infertility sucks gifts, sending love gifts. I love Dusti, and I think I love this company too.

2) What post should you check out?

What Do New Mothers Do All Day? This is the exact right post I needed to read.  I’m not ready to return to work, and I feel like I have not gotten anything done during my time off. This post reminded me that if the only thing I’ve done is take care of the baby then that is exactly what is supposed to happen.

3) What’s been going on this week?

My witty, wise, and sassy Grandma Mary passed away yesterday. She was 95, and I knew this day would come. It still hurts. To be truthful I’ve been so exhausted I don’t think I’ve let it fully sink in and hit me yet.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

I’d like to say we are going to spend it resting and snuggling but it may end up being a mad dash of getting things done before I go back to work.

5) Did you miss this post?

I kept myself awake for the late night feedings by reading books one handed from my Kindle. Here’s some thoughts on a few of those reads. Book Reviews: Firefight, Today Will Be Different, The Sacrifice

6) What did my kids create?

The kids had a Trick or Read event at school this week and had to decorate a pumpkin based on a book character. My son made Monster from Jonathan James and the WhatifMonster. My daughter made Pinkalicious from the Pinkalicious series.

The event was fun too!

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

      1. as a teacher I would rather see the pumpkins done independently than the ones where you question if the child did anything
