Week in Review

Week in Review 11/16/18

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

I remember when I was pregnant thinking a prenatal massage is nice but getting one after delivering would be great too. I also remember thinking I probably would not spend the time or money on myself to do it after the baby was born. What perfect timing that I won a Facebook giveaway for a spa package the week after I went back to work. I had no excuse not to do it.

Integrative Health Center’s services were top notch, and I was treated very well. They post interesting articles to their Facebook page and maybe you’ll win their next giveaway.  So if you are local-ish (Norman/Oklahoma City area) hop on over to follow them by clicking here

2) What post should you check out?

Rules for Visiting Newborns and Their Families During Flu Season.  We struggle at my house with staying healthy this time of year. I think it’s a combination of having young school age kids and immune systems that could be stronger. Adding a little baby to the mix takes it to another level though. When they are as young as my baby girl there’s not even a lot you can give them to help if they do get sick. I know I appreciate it when anybody goes the extra step to try to help us stay healthy. It would break my heart to see this sweet little face sick.

3) What’s been going on this week?

A hayride. Every year my sister and her best friend put on the ultimate fall event. It’s in the country with a tractor pulled hayride and bonfire with hot dogs, chili, and smores. We bundled up and had a blast.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

I screwed up. My husband’s birthday is this weekend. I was going to get us tickets to a movie we’ve been wanting to see in the Director’s Suite at the Warren. It’s opening weekend, and I waited too long though. All tickets for every showing this weekend are sold out. I’m scrambling for a plan B. . .

5) Did you miss this post?

3 Things I am NOT Going to do with Baby #3. Was there anything you did different after your first (plus) time around?

6) What did my kids create?

My kids’ school put on an arts festival. There were activities you could pay to do, a silent auction to bid on class art projects, and then student art pieces were for sell.

I LOVE this idea instead of having the students sell something. Not that I’m opposed to selling, but I thought this was a creative fundraising alternative. We all had a fun night.

My daughter’s class made bird feeders. My son’s class made snow globe ornaments with their pictures inside. Not the best picture, but I promise these are super cute.

And here they are showing off their sand art, sprayed hair, and face paintings from the event. Yes my daughter wore a Frozen dress up dress with play jewelry, an orange jacket, and gloves even thought it wasn’t cold. She said it’s her “fashion”.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

    1. Hey! Simon! I took a blogging break for a bit after the baby was born and am just getting back in the swing of things again. Good to hear from you. How’ve you been? (I’m still catching on blog reading from my break :/).

  1. All baby yawns are so cute. S’mores made with fudge stripe cookies is brilliant. And we’ll be trying to get all the porch furniture put away in the basement this weekend… if we don’t have too much snow and ice. Not so exciting, us.

  2. Let me tell you about the year that I was at a conference and completely forgot my husband’s birthday until he obliquely reminded me at about quarter to midnight. His birthday “gift” was me calling and apologizing profusely for the remaining fifteen minutes of his birthday.

I’m definitely going to include a link to that article about visiting during flu season when I email people about visiting our impending new addition!

  3. Oh Lacey, this is such a great post! I really love your week in review. 🙂 🙂 The photos of your kids are precious – both at your sister’s hayride and also the school event. What a neat idea to have kids sell their products.

And, SO GLAD that you got a massage. You look very relaxed. It’s important to take care of yourself, relax and breathe. OK I’ll stop. ❤ Sincerely Lacey you are amazing and such a gift.

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and to a ministers' meeting on Sunday. Did I tell you that I'm a minister in an alternative spiritual org? I'm also going to focus on some coaching … I have a group that I'm organizing called "Self-Forgiveness and Money" in the Spring!

    Lots of love. Debbie

ps – good luck on your birthday plans with your husband! 🙂

    1. Thanks Debbie, it was a full and eventful week for us all!

Oh you are always off doing such exciting things, Debbie. I love your heart. How did the wedding and coaching go? Self Forgiveness and Money is a big issue I would imagine. . . .

  4. hope you can figure out an alternate plan for your hubby’s birthday. My husband’s always takes the back burner since it is so close to my oldest sons. I have gone to just getting gifts and making a dinner he will enjoy
