Week in Review

Week in Review 2/1/2019

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Calligraphy By Deanna. I had dinner with a friend of mine this week who has a calligraphy shop. She started talking about her work and clientele. I just kept saying, “Neat. Neat. Neat. This is SO neat.”  I was fascinated and really did think it was neat! Calligraphy is an art form I knew nothing about. If you are in need of something beautifully handmade you should hop over and browse around.

2) What post should you check out?

You know what I love? A list of good book suggestions. I have read several that are on Carol’s top ten list and added several others to my “to read” list. So I can personally vouch for this post about the most memorable reads of 2018. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Ummmm. Well. This week sort of zoomed by in a blur. I know I went to work everyday. I know my kids got feed. I know this cutie and I squeezed in a visit to the library. Guys, that’s about all I know about this week.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

It’s going to be the first Saturday of the month. So we are going to try and at least go out for donuts and hit up Home Depot’s Free Kids Building Workshop.

5) Did you miss this post?

Weird Things People Say to Pregnant Women. What out of line things have you heard while expecting?

6) What did my kids create?

100 Pixels. We are approaching the 100th school day of the year. For class my son had to create something out of 100 items. He choose to make a pixel Mario and Megaman. I think it’s original and turned out pretty great.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. I understand your fascination with calligraphy. I had a boss at one point who was a professional calligrapher as a side hustle. She’d leave me post-its written in calligraphy. They were work-related notes, but oh. so. pretty.

Also I love the 100 pixels project, both the idea of it and your son’s interpretation. Way cool.

    1. Yes! It’s just something that’s never really been on my radar before, but man, what a skill. And also, how nice to get something so lovely at work!
And thanks about the pixel art. He was so proud of it.

  2. Fantastic post! I loved the library when I was a kid. I loved the Home Depot kids workshops, too!! This weekend – We have our first blood drive of 2019 at our church. We are also going to invite some friends over for food and watching the Super Bowl on Sunday!

  3. I always wished I could print and write pretty (shhh don’t tell people that I’m a primary teacher without pretty penmanship).

I love your son’s 100th day project, so much fun

  4. SO adorable. Thank you for sharing all of this…. I love your son’s pixel Mario and Megaman!!! The photo of your daughter is absolutely precious too. I hope you all have fun at the Home Depot workshop, Lacey.

I’m in NY. My partner and I split up, and I’m checking out different places to live. Plan to see a sublet tomorrow with a woman who works at the UN, and then also will be meeting with potential clients. And see friends too. 🙂

Sending you many blessings, Lacey. You’re wonderful (I know that I say that a lot – it’s true. I’m a big fan.)

    Love and Light,
    Debbie

    1. Thanks Debbie, he and I were both proud.
Oh Debbie, I’m so sorry to hear about you and David. So you are thinking about heading back to NY? Is it a dumb question to ask if you are doing okay?
I’m a big fan of you too 🙂 I hope you have a great week too, Debbie!!

      1. I love you Lacey. You having such a caring presence, do you know that? ❤

I'm doing ok. Thank you for asking. It was a long time in coming, and I'm taking care of myself … being present with myself … and doing those things that I do with clients!! 🙂

I'll see about NY. At a minimum, it was an excellent trip to get away and reconnect with contacts, and to be really good to myself.
        xoxoxoxo Hugs Lacey!
        Blessings,
        Debbie
