Week in Review

Week in Review 2/8/19

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Stamped Sweets. Since my kids are so excited for Valentine’s Day I’m thinking about ordering some of these “deliciously edible photo cookies” with their pictures printed on it to celebrate. I’ve seen this for cakes but not cookies. It looks unique, and I am certain the kids will get a kick out of it.

2) What post should you check out?

Karen’s Shoes. This post is a tribute from Oneta, an 84 year old blogger, to her younger sister after she lost her husband. It is a beautiful and heartfelt piece. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

You know, I feel like I have sprinted through the week. I know work has been busy but can’t actually think of a single thing I completed. I know it’s been busy at home but can’t think of a single thing we’ve done there either. It’s a blur, but also the baby still isn’t sleeping through the night. So I might also have a touch of brain fog. This face is totally worth it though.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

A 40th Birthday Party. With the help of my mom, friend, and niece we are throwing a birthday bash for my big sister.  She is such a great mom, awesome aunt to my kiddos, and a supportive sister. I am pumped to be celebrating her.

5) Did you miss this post?

The Passive Aggressive Smiley Face. There are a handful of older posts of mine that seem to still get viewed consistently for whatever reason. This is one of those posts. How about you? In this age of digital communication have you experienced the passive aggressive :)?

6) What did my kids create?

A movie. Remember Monster? Well the kids created a movie plot and then recorded it on their tablet. Monster is a mad scientist who controls evil robots that try to take over Ponyville, but Recuse Pups come to save the day. Lots of kid show references there; so if you didn’t follow that, that’s okay.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Girl, sounds like you had a great week. We had a great week over here, that included a snow day on Wednesday. I purged some stuff from my garage, donated it to a local church. I nailed down a dog sitter for our family vacation to Disney in 3 weeks. Yesterday I worked and got some little maintenance things done around the house (thank goodness for Amazon and their super quick shipping). My 11 year old has a basketball game tonight, I am going out with some old co-workers tomorrow night, but other than that we are relaxing 🙂

  2. sorry to hear that sleep is still eluding you and your little one, but at least you get those precious moments alone with her? How cool that your kiddos made a movie that is fun and creative

  3. My 2 year old was EBF since birth. She never took to a pacifier or a bottle, and believe me, we tired to get her to take to them. We just ended our breastfeeding journey 3 months ago. Sleep? What is that? She is getting better about it, but she is a child who likes to be near someone while sleeping-namely me! I feel like I haven’t slept in over 2 years. As sleep deprived as I am, I’ll take all the snuggles while she’s still giving them. My 6 year old isn’t much of a snuggler anymore and I miss that time with her!

    1. Oh I hear ya. My other 2 weren’t great sleepers till about 2 years old as well. I’ve aged a lot in the last few years lol! It can be ROUGH, but I try to remember this time goes by so fast (even though it doesn’t feel like it sometimes in the moment.)

  4. Excellent question about passive aggressive behavior online. I bet that I have had it directed at me but was too dense to know it. Or too mellow to care about it. Or something like that. I like the photo of your baby. So cute.

  5. She’s so cute! Also, I love the movie post!! That’s so cool. As for us, this weekend is truly our only “free” weekend for the rest of February – We’ll be traveling to see friends on the 16th and 23rd. So, we have several things to tackle around the house, change the oil in both cars, I have to prep for presenting a program on Monday about my blog to my PEO chapter, and then a little bit of down time, I hope!

  6. Lacey, I love this! Your kids created a film – how creative is that? I love the Rescue Pups. 🙂
How was your celebration for your sister’s birthday? I hope it was amazing, Lacey.

I’m coming back from NY this weekend. Flying out to LA tomorrow early morning. I made some excellent contacts, and I’m checking out a sublet as a potential place to live. Not sure that I’ll do it, I’m waiting for inner direction on what’s on purpose now and what’s taking care of me. (So important.)

    Love you Lacey. Great post!
