Week in Review

Week in Review 6/21/2019

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Bona Vision Eye Center had a Facebook giveaway to promote the Asian District Night Market Festival, and I won! They graciously gave me a gift certificate to try Okie Pokie and Noodee, just down the road from their location in the heart of OKC. So a big thank you to Bona Vision.

You all know that food is my hobby. I always have a running list of recipes I want to make and restaurants I want to try. Plus, I am food indecisive, never wanting to miss out on anything. Okie Pokie and Noodee is perfect for me because they offer customized noodle and poke bowls. I added anything I wanted to my bowl with zero regrets. Another bonus, there is a shaded patio that provided me a nice, quiet lunch break. Needless to say, I’ll be back.

2) What post should you check out?

I love the blog Teacher Mom Talks. It is written by a fellow mom who is a former teacher with a passion for learning and connecting. Our family lives in a small (but happy!) home that I am forever trying to purge. Personally, I relate to her post My Moderate Minimizing Mission. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Everything good. Book club meetup. Daughter’s dance class. Haircuts for all!

My daughter was tired!

Oh, and there was that middle part of the week where I got diagnosed with strep. I associate strep with winter cold and flu time, but apparently, it likes to make it’s rounds during summer too. Boooooo!

4) What’s going on this weekend?

We have a few different parties at a few different pools to hit up. Although I am not contagious, I am still pretty tired from getting over from being sick. We will try to make it to as many this mama can.

5) Did you miss this post?

Tzatziki Sauce. The dill in this just screams summer.

6) What did my kids create?

What are you looking at here? Well, there are some back porch paintings of my daughter experimenting with splattering and an attempt by my son to build a robot. And does anybody spot Monster and Dixie Dog helping?

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Thanks for the mention! I always enjoy reading these. I read one last week and found…Emily…I think. I loved reading her about section…great writing. I didn’t get a chance to comment back on your post though. Always exciting to win free food, strep stinks, hope you feel better soon!

  2. Lacey, hi!! Long time no type. 😉 ”I am food indecisive” made me smile. You do have a way with words. ❤ And as always there is just something so authentically wonderful about your daughter's facial expressions. I don't know how I would get anything done around her because I would just be watching for the next reaction. 😉

    1. Niki!!! I’ve been a terrible blog reader. I’m so sorry. But it’s SO good to hear from you! How are you?
Lol yes, Riley has always had the best faces, even when she was a baby.

  3. free food. who doesn’t love free food?

Your daughter’s expression in that picture is too funny. I thought maybe she wasn’t happy with her hair cut or something.

sorry to hear you are down and out with strep, it’s crazy when you associate an illness with a certain season/time of the year and then it pops up at another time and you feel like… wait this can’t be right.

    hope you enjoy your weekend

Yes! Like how summer colds are the worst.

Our weekend ended up being pretty lazy. How was yours?
