I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
Common Panda. I’ve been tinkering with the idea of dying my hair. A few things about me though, I’m cheap and low maintenance. I like the idea of dying my hair for a change, but I don’t like the idea of having to keep up with it. Plus, if I did dye it, I think I would want to do something kinda bold, but then I start to think I’m probably too old to pull it off.
I believe our phones read our minds because after I’d been mulling this idea over for a few weeks, I saw an ad for this Common Panda hair wax. It comes in vibrant colors. You put it on, and it stays until the next time you wash your hair.
Color my hair without the commitment? It sounded intriguing enough to try. I ordered red.
It made my dark brown hair look like it had maroon highlights. I am pretty certain I could have gotten more color, but I wanted to save some for the kids.
My daughter has light brown hair, and hers turned out much brighter.

We had a lot of fun with it and are curious to try the other colors. Have you heard of or used hair wax before? What did you think?
2) What post should you check out?
Ally over at The Spectacled Bean has such a smart, fun blog. She has a way of turning the stuff of every day into insightful thoughts that often times gives me a chuckle or two or three. Check out the post Regarding Goats: Some people Wouldn’t, But I Did. I have several friends that I know are weirdly into goats. You know who you are. Enjoy.
3) What’s been going on this week?
I am going to be honest here. I have had a tough work week and have just been going through the motions to get to today. Made it! Whew.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
Friends, I am off work for the next 10 days. 10 days! I am taking some time to rest and to get into some adventures with the family. So no new content or Week in Review next week, but I hope you have a happy and safe Fourth of July.

5) Did you miss this post?
Do you have some chives or other herbs from the garden? Use them up with this Garlic Chive Butter recipe.
6) What did my kids create?
Last Presidents Day I read a book about Abraham Lincoln aloud to my son. Thinking he was being disrespectful because he was running around the room and not looking at me, I finished and haughtily asked him to tell me what he learned. He then proceeded to recite damn near the whole book to me.
We started reading Frank Einstein and the ElectroFinger this week. It’s about a boy inventor and his robots trying to create wireless energy to combat their archrivals, who are trying to dominate the electric energy in Midville.
I didn’t get irritated this time when the tub of big legos came out. I just kept reading. When I finished I asked what he had made. This is a damn with water on one side and a town on the other. He had heard the part in the book that explained hydropower and got inspired.
Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

Enjoy your time off! I have the next two Fridays off from work, plus the 4th. I can’t wait! Plus, Camp NaNoWriMo starts on Monday. I feel like the last one just ended in April!

it is hard when you expect your child to sit down and want to listen attentively to a story, but children with autism need to move. when something is in their head, they need to do it then. It doesn’t mean that they tuned you out, just that what you are sharing spurred on something in their brain.
enjoy your vacation break!

I praise you for not getting upset with him and seeing that he is learning, paying attention, and caring… just in his own way. he can’t/won’t tell you think you for this, but I can
not sure what is planned for the 4th other than quiet day with the family.

The hair wax looks so fun & you can totally pull off any bold look you want!! I wish I could be like your son & still listen while doing all kinds of things– that’s a serious talent.
