Week in Review

Week in Review 9/6/19

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Woman Shelters 97 Stray Dogs In Her House While A Category 5 Storm Rages Outside. With all the major and devasting things going on in the news this week, this is amazing.

2) What post should you check out?

The TV Shows that Shaped My Early Childhood on the blog Geek Mamas. Aw such a great topic and post! Candy writes about the shows that introduced her to and helped her find a love for all things fantasy and sci-fi.  I personally remember being weirdly drawn to the opening music and shows Unsolved Mysteries and Quantum Leap at a young age, maybe around 5 or 6. Those both tend to be the type of show I’m into now.

What childhood TV shows had an impact on you?

3) What’s been going on this week?

I’m not sure. It all kind of went by in a haze. It’s weird, but you know, sometimes these short weeks feel busier somehow. I did get to see my brother though. He’s been working over in Wales for the last year-plus. We get to have him back stateside for a while now. Yay!

4) What’s going on this weekend?

More birthdays. Our season of birthdays continues this weekend to celebrate the baby turning 1 and my mother-in-law turning 70. If you are wondering how many birthday celebrations we can squeeze into a 6 week period, the answer feels like 100 million.

5) Did you miss this post?

My middle child was getting overlooked. How do you keep your middle child from getting lost in the shuffle?

6) What did my kids create?

Books. We have had such great evenings together this week. We’ve had dinner, done homework, read, with everything running smoothly. (By the way, I’m not bragging, just appreciating. Over the long weekend, I was so overwhelmed by my kids that I had to keep myself from breaking down into tears everyone hour on the hour.) One night the kids got inspired and sat at the table working hard to make their own books.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. there are so many days that I’ve felt like quitting my job as a parent, when you feel like nothing can go right… and then it always seems that it takes a turn, things get better and most times some magic moment happens then that makes you smile and be glad that you’re a mom. I love that your kiddos made books and that moment helped you see that everything was ok

  2. Hi Lacey! Happy birthday to your baby and mother-in-law ❤ . I hope you have an amazing time!!!

And, so glad that you got to see your brother.

I'm going to be taking a blogging hiatus––not sure how long. It's been 3 years (or more!) that I've been blogging on forgiveness, and I want to pause and see what's on track for me now. And, I'm going to NYC for 6 weeks! I found a great AirB&B in Brooklyn, right by the Brooklyn Bridge.

Email me at weloveyou@forgivingconnects.com to connect anytime. Love you Lacey.
Love and blessings to your family as well.
