I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
I tried a lot of new places this week because it was kind of one ongoing birthday celebration. So my new discoveries from this week will probably overflow into the next few weeks’ posts. For this week though I’ll pick The Drum Room Wedge. It combines 2 restaurants found on Western Avenue, The Drum Room and The Wedge, into 1 location in Midwest City. When I was trying to decide on where to have my birthday brunch, I wanted somewhere that would satisfy the grownups and kiddos. How can you go wrong with brick oven pizza and/or chicken and waffles? You can’t. It was delicious and all ages left happy.
2) What post should you check out?

3) What’s been going on this week?
I got to celebrate my birthday Saturday with my family. We had brunch with my parents then went home to read, snuggle, and drink mimosas.
Then on Wednesday I took a half-day off work and meet my dear friend in Tulsa to play for the afternoon and evening. She showed me how some of our old stomping grounds have changed. We visited local shops, an interactive art exhibit, and had dinner at fun, fancy restaurant. We topped it off by attending an author event with Erin Morgenstern, the author The Night Circus and The Starless Sea. Every single part of the day was amazing and perfect and spent in good company.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
I don’t know! It was a good week, but I am tired. Today was especially weird. I worked from home because a transformer blew at the office. One of my kids got in pretty big trouble at school for acting like a terd. It was a weird day. So I will figure out this weekend after I get caught up on rest tonight!
5) Did you miss this post?
Instant Pot Ham, Green Bean, and Potato Bowl. Looking for an easy dinner with a whopping 5 ingredients? I’ve got you covered.
6) What did my kids create?
Video game art. All of these drawings are by my 7-year-old son. The first 2 were inspired by Metroid and the last from Mega Man.
Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

Happy Birthday! Your week sounds like it was lovely. I enjoyed The Night Circus so much I read it twice. Therefore I’m jealous of your experience attending the author event. 😉

That’s one delicious-looking waffle. I just had a birthday week myself. Dairy Queen still makes a tasty ice cream cake. I can tell you that. Happy Birthday!

Oh the chicken & waffles look yummy! Glad everyone of all ages enjoyed that brunch. 😊 The day in Tulsa with your friend sounds like it was a blast, too. Hope your kiddo didn’t do anything too naughty at school lol.
