I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
I am continuing this section with some new discoveries that were made over my birthday week. When I went to visit my friend in Tulsa she showed me how our old stomping grounds have been updated. Magic City Books stuck out for their familiar reads with beautiful covers, good coffee, and author events. Made is right next door with a wide assortment of items by Oklahoma artists and crafters. Then we headed on over to Cherry Street to dine at Roosevelt’s, which was still impressively decorated from the holidays. We shared a few small plates, but the real stand out was the drink. I had the Black Dahlia made from gin, blackberries, mint, lime, and soda water.
2) What blog should you check out?
Head on over to the blog Pointless & Prosaic where Sadagopan wittily writes on a range of topics with insight and humor. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?
Our group had our book club meeting at GoGo Sushi. My mom brought me a crazy amount of clothes that fit crazy well. The whole family has new haircuts. So I’m eating out with new clothes on, sporting a new do, and feeling pretty sassy about it.
4) What’s going on this weekend?
We are going to my mom’s for a family get together, then playing the rest by ear. I think it is supposed to be nice and hope we get to play outside some. I started a new book I’d like to read. There’s a laundry monster I need to slay but don’t want to…
5) Did you miss this post?
Pumpkin Oatmeal. A perfect warm breakfast to have on cold winter mornings.
6) What did my kids create?
100 Day Project. Thursday was their 100th day of school, and they were tasked with creating something out of 100 items. They used old calendars to make collages of 100 unicorns and 100 video game items.
Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

I enjoy seeing what you’re up to each week. The combo of a new haircut and new clothes and books and sushi is wonderful, especially at this bleak time of year. I hope you have fun at your mom’s over the weekend and have no doubt you’ll find a way to fill the rest of your weekend time. Sometimes the unplanned stuff is the best.

Thanks, Ally. It helps me find the good stuff in the midst of the grind I think. What are you up to this weekend?

Not much really. This time of year we are homebodies to the nth degree. Boring people waiting for spring 💤

Oh staying in can make the very best weekends. I think you are probably cozy and not boring.

Yes, that’s it. I like how you think. We’re cozy, and not at all anti-social.

Looks like you are a neighbor – state wise at least. I’m in Mustang, OK. Lived at Claremore for five years back before you were born likely, in the 80’s. Have a good week.

Lacey, what a great post!! Your kids look fantastic in their new haircuts, and so do you. 🙂 I love their unicorn and video game collages––they look so proud. Hope your family get together was good this past weekend.
I’m going to be doing a coaching call with a client this weekend (she’s in NJ and is moving into a coaching career herself), plus writing steps for the 21 Days of Forgiveness group for people to identify limiting beliefs and judgments that hold them back, and how to replace them with positive ones. Cool, huh? Plus, I’ll see friends too!
Love you Lacey, thank you for your blogging. It’s uplifting to my day and makes me SMILE!!! Blessings to your weekend ahead.
Love,
Debbie

We had pizza and a movie and a low key weekend. It was good, but we will be ready to get out and about this weekend probably.
