Week in Review

Week in Review 3/13/2020

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Lambeth. His name is actually Jason Lambeth. In high school though, I don’t think I ever heard anyone call him by his first name, not even once. He’s always been an amazing artist, and I saw on his Insta stories that he was sending hand-drawn postcards to the first 5 people that responded. Well, guess who got one? It really did make my day. For interesting and fun content, follow him on Instagram by clicking here.

2) What blog post should you check out?

Frugal Hausfrau is one of my favorite food blogs to follow. Any one of her recipes will probably get you out of a rut and can be made by the average home cook. Plus her pictures are always on point. Head over to check out her recipes but also this special post about cutting food costs (by clicking here).

3) What’s been going on this week?

Parties and Parks. Even though it is rainy today, the rest of the week has been sunny and beautiful. We hit up a princess birthday party, a trampoline park party, and parks. I’ve also been working remotely all week, which has been… interesting.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

TBD. The kids are on spring break starting today. I had a long list of things for us to do, all of which are outside. It turns out that it is going to be rainy between now and all of next week. I am refocusing. Now we have a stack of silly books from the library, a stack of board games, art supplies, and a list of video games and movies to check out. Wish me luck.

5) Did you miss this post?

Because it is going to be raining, I think you should make this loaded potato soup. Click here for the recipe.

6) What did my kids create?

School art. I had parent-teacher conferences this week for my 2 school-aged kiddos. Have you ever noticed that all elementary schools have the same smell? What is that, pencils + kids? Anyway, I love how the hallways at their school are always lined with art projects they’ve done in class.

Thanks for reading. How was your week? What are you up to this weekend?

  1. People still getting together with other people! We’re all in our own homes here, no fraternizing with each other, you know. I’m not sure that will be a problem for me, an introvert, but with the schools closed for at least three weeks I sense that many parents are going to be teetering on the edge of crazy. Weird times.

    1. Yes this week things were still “on”. As the week went on though, more and more stuff started to get canceled.
Yes! I can work. I can parent. But my kids are still too young to both at once lol.
      Very weird times indeed!
