Week in Review 10/25/19

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

Bubba’s 33. It’s a new restaurant that opened here in OKC this week. They graciously hosted a few of us from the Oklahoma City Moms Blog to check out their fun atmosphere and considerable menu.

A few things to know before getting to the good stuff (food!)… Half the location is restaurant-style seating and the other half is garage bar style, making it easy to go for a family dinner or date night. One of the moms noticed there was no changing table in the bathroom. That’s because it is in the family restroom! The staff, every single person, was accommodating and friendly.

To be 100% honest, when I looked at the menu beforehand, I thought it was too wide-ranged for everything to be good. Usually with a menu that hits that many categories, there are few above-average dishes and everything else is okay. We sampled the whole menu though. Everything from the pizza to wings to burgers was fresh and delicious.

I feel like salads are often an afterthought on menus. Not here though. My favorite dish was actually the kale quinoa salad with salmon. Yes! It’s true. Me, lover of ALL food, liked the salad best. And I’m not just saying that be obnoxious. When I go back I’ll be getting that again with some parmesan garlic wings as an appetizer and a blackberry lemonade to wash it down. You should too!

2) What post should you check out?

The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell on the blog Pirate Patty Reviews. Patty reads it all. Seriously. I don’t think there is anything she hasn’t read. Then she kindly reviews what she reads. I think she has found the perfect fall/Halloween-y/thriller book for us. Check it out.

3) What’s been going on this week?

Working and playing. It’s been busy at the office. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t glad it’s Friday. Up until yesterday though the weather has been perfect. So after work, the kids and I have been playing in the backyard and going on as many walks as possible. You know, to soak up the 2 good weeks of fall we get here in Oklahoma.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

It depends on the weather. In a day it turned from clear and sunny to cold and rainy. I think we’ll play it by ear. There will be some sort of comfort food consumed while watching football though.

6) What did my kids create?

Pumpkins! We have a Mega Man pumpkin (of course!) by my son. My daughter painted a sad face pumpkin that I think has a pretty cool style to it. It’s since rained, and now the pumpkins are bare again. So you just may see the same pumpkins with different paintings next week.
