Week in Review

Week in Review 7/26/19

I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series posted every Friday, Week in Review. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down, and tell me about yours.

1) What’s gotten my attention this week?

MNS Creative. For anyone who is familiar with this blog, you are probably familiar with Monster .Well, the author of the book Johnathan James and the WhatIf Monster has a pretty cool website with digital downloads and free printable activities and crafts that would be worth your time to check out.

2) What post should you check out?

Understanding Autism: The Favors I Ask of People I Don’t Even Know.  It’s a post written by a fellow autism mama and Oklahoma City Moms Blog contributor with a universal message.

3) What’s been going on this week?

A birthday. My son turned 7. Wow. My son turned 7.

He and my daughter are having a big joint party in a few weeks. We tried to make his actual birthday special though. It started with donuts, continued with Mario Maker, included dinner at Chic-Fil-A and ended with fireworks. He had such a perfect day that he was sad when it ended. We learned a new feeling, bittersweet.

4) What’s going on this weekend?

A baseball game. You know, since becoming a family of 5, outings are a whole new ball game (pun intended). Sometimes it feels like more trouble than it’s worth to get 3 kids ready and loaded and juggled out the door into public. But this weekend we are going to attempt a quintessential summer event. We are going to go to an OKC Dodgers game. Wish me luck!

5) Did you miss this post?

Salad with Shredded Buffalo Chicken. This is a great recipe to make in the heat of the summer.

6) What did my kids create?

Video games. My son got Mario Maker for his birthday and lots and lots of levels have been made.
