I hope everyone had a great week. Thanks for checking out my weekly series, Week in Review, posted every Friday. Enjoy a recap of how the week went down and tell me about yours.
1) What’s gotten my attention this week?
Barre. Last month I did an online strength training challenge with fitness coach Jacquline Mazza. Her Facebook profile is what is linked in case you want to follow her. She has a closed group that does a 5 day fitness challenge every month. This month it is Barre, which I had never done or really heard of before.
It’s a ballet inspired workout. We have done 2 moves everyday for three reps each. She had the group do each move for 30 seconds, pulse the move for 30 seconds, and hold the move for 30 seconds. It looks and sounds easier than it is. I’ve enjoyed it, and if it’s continued I am sure would tone the crap out of anyone.
2) What blog should you check out?
GROW TASTE CREATE. Guys, I have to give a HUGE shout out to Behop at GROW TASTE CREATE for identifying all of the mystery plants that started growing in our garden. She is a mama and gardener. Her blog is filled with beautiful pictures, recipes, and projects. Check it out.
3) What’s been going on this week?
4) What’s going on this weekend?
Book Club. Book Club meetings are one of my favorite days of the month (or every other month). It was my turn, and I picked a YA book to try to lighten things up for the summer, Never Never. I didn’t even end up really caring for it. That’s okay though because no matter what, our little book club gets together for good food and conversation (that may or may not include very much about the book we may or may not have read).

Thanks for reading. How was your week? Tell me, what are you up to this weekend?
Hey Lacey– admire you for your “ballerina” workout!! I think it would be a tough one! And awesome on the summer book reading!! Don’t you love reading with kids?? I was up in SF with grand-kids for 10 days and we went through a lot of books, except they tend to like the same book over and over. I must have read “I Love you Stinky Face” a dozen times! — And we had book club this week too, which I also love. Went to a Viet Namese restaurant and our rule is that we don’t talk about the book til everyone is done eating– so we pass dinner catching up. And we talked through A Gentleman in Moscow. Have you read it!! Several people in our group said it was the best book they’ve read this year. OK, fun to see you back at it posting!! I do love your blog Lacey! hugs from here!!

It really was a touch workout!
Haha yes I LOVE reading with them, but yeah. . . when they get stuck on a book it can be hard lol.
I haven’t read that, but maybe I can keep it for my next book club pick when it’s my turn? I need a good one to redeem myself lol.

My son is just starting to read books on his own. There’a a series about a dog named Biscuit that he loves. https://www.amazon.com/Biscuits-First-Read-Book-Collection/dp/0060589337
I didn’t think this one was that great, but my daughter had us read it over and over and over again.
What are you and your girls reading?

Thank you! My rising kindergarten daughter is learning to read so we have been doing a lot of Level 1 readers and BOB books so I will have to check out the Biscuit books! Both girls love everything… lately we have been reading Mercy Watson (funny small chapter books), Fancy Nancy books, Little House on the Prairie series, etc.

I need to get some BOB books. There’s a Bob books app we have, but we need some actual books too I think. Sometimes it’s hard to find the super simple one sentence starter /repetitive books.

Yay for summer reading programs! Looks you all are really taking advantage of it. Book club, lucky you. My book club is off for the summer and I cannot wait till it resumes! ❤

That maybe smart. It took us 2 months to find a date that worked for the 6 of us. Then 2 still weren’t able to make it when it came time!
